GPA Babel Mobile App Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Grid and Garden LLC (“GG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Camera Data: The App requests access to your device’s camera so you can take photos of objects you want to practice with. Photos are captured at your direction and are not taken automatically or in the background.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, certain information is collected automatically through Google Firebase services, including:

  • Analytics Data: Usage patterns such as screens visited, session duration, and feature interactions (via Firebase Analytics).
  • Crash and Performance Data: Diagnostic information including crash logs, device model, operating system version, and performance metrics (via Firebase Crashlytics).
  • Device Identifiers: Anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers such as Firebase Installation IDs used to distinguish unique app installations.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide core App functionality, including the camera-based practice feature.
  • To understand how the App is used so we can improve it.
  • To identify and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your photos for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the feature you initiated.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with the following categories of third parties:

Data Retention

  • Photos captured through the App remain on your device (and/or in cloud storage if you choose to save them) and are not retained on our servers unless explicitly stated in-app.
  • Analytics and crash data are retained according to Google Firebase’s default retention periods (typically 14 months for Analytics; 90 days for Crashlytics).

Camera Permission

The App requests camera access solely to let you photograph objects for practice purposes. This permission is optional — if you deny it, camera-dependent features will be unavailable, but other parts of the App will continue to function normally. The App does not access your camera in the background.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of analytics collection by adjusting your device settings or contacting us.
  • Revoke camera permission at any time through your device’s system settings.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on our website, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
